On the photo, which serves an illustration of the article, you can see bus station in the old part of Pomorie. At first glance it looks like a few stalls and exchanger, but it is a real bus station or bus terminal.
In fact, there are two bus stations in Pomorie – in the old part and in the new. About where they are, what a schedule of buses in every, and how much are the tickets we will discuss in this article.
Where are the bus stations and bus stops in the town of Pomorie?
The one bus station, that is situated in the old town, is better equipped, there are cash desks (worked up to 5 hours, it seems), and even a man, who tells visitors, how is it better to get anywhere they want (although at stands everything is clearly seen). Next to the station there is a great market with cheap fruits and even a fountain in order to wash them. This bus station is called “Поморие център”./strong>
The bus station in the new city is much more modest. It is more like an ordinary stop. On the other hand much more buses stop over here, and ticket prices can be lower. For example, a ticket to Nessebar is 3 levs, and from the old city is 3,5 levs.
Bus stations of Pomorie on a map
To find a bus station in Pomorie is not as difficult as in other cities. To make it easier, we noted both bus stations on a map.
If you plan to see the Monastery of St. George, we advise to choose a bus to the new part of the city (on the mainland). But you must remember, that it is in a residential area – to the main attractions of Pomorie you will have to walk for about forty minutes under the hot sun (on the isthmus between the island and the mainland there is almost no shade).
If you want to take a walk through the beautiful city, to visit Lake Pomorie (there is a healing black mud, and swans with pelicans in the wild), or to swim in the water at a wild beach – it is easier to do by choosing a bus station in the old part of the city.
Be sure to note, that the majority of buses that go through Pomorie to Burgas – are passing by, they do not stop in the old town and do not go through it.
Where we advise to go from Pomorie?
Pomorie is a great option for a sated excursion program as well as Nessebar. You can visit Burgas, Nessebar and Varna easily. Balchik, in our view, is already far away. In view of the change of buses you will have to travel for about 4 hours there and 4 – back.
Theoretically, you can visit Sozopol, but as aptly said one of our acquaintances: “Sozopol – is like Nesebar, but 3 times worse.”
You can also visit Ravda or Aheloy, but what to do at these resorts – we do not know.
If you plan to go to a disco at Sunny Beach, think in advance how you will come back. Buses do not go in Bulgaria at nights. And taxi from Sunny Beach will cost in the best case from 100 levs. And that, if actively bargaining with a taxi driver, and also in a considerable share of luck.
A bus timetable from Pomorie and back for 2016
Bus timetable in Pomorie and back, which we offer, is not 100% precise. There is no a significant part of routes, especially small irregular carriers. You can use it for reference only – to select a city of departure and arrival, to learn a schedule and approximate cost trip. This will help you to plan independent excursions around Bulgaria.
